Council on Foreign Relations, Adjunct Senior Fellow

Gordon M. Goldstein is an international public policy and communications executive who operates at the intersection of government, business and the global technology industry. He is currently an adjunct Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and founder of GMG Strategic Advisors. From 2010 through December 2018 Gordon served as Head of External Affairs at Silver Lake Partners, a global private equity firm specializing in the global technology industry, where he managed domestic and international government relations, public policy, strategic communications and media relations for Silver Lake as well as key public affairs issues and initiatives for the firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to Silver Lake Gordon held positions at Clark & Weinstock, Albright Stonebridge Group and he worked in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General.

Gordon is the best-selling author of Lessons In Disaster: McGeorge Bundy and the Path to War in Vietnam and has written articles, op-eds and book review essays for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Financial Times, Atlantic, Newsweek, Politico and Foreign Policy. Gordon holds a B.A, Masters in International Affairs, Masters of Philosophy and a Ph.D. in political science and international relations from Columbia University, where he was an International Fellow.
