Brad Arkin
Technical Advisor
Chief Trust Officer
Salesforce
Brad Arkin serves as the Chief Trust Officer at Salesforce, where he is responsible for overseeing the company's commitment to trust and security in its operations. In this role, he plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and security of customer data. Before joining Salesforce, Brad was the SVP, Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cisco. In this position, he led Cisco’s Security and Trust Organization, focusing on meeting the company's security and privacy obligations to customers, regulators, employees, and stakeholders. Collaborating closely with the Cisco Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and functional leaders, he was instrumental in enhancing Cisco’s security posture across its product portfolio and safeguarding the global Cisco Enterprise. Recognized as a thought leader in the cybersecurity field, Brad's tenure at Cisco was marked by significant achievements, including the rapid deployment of a global Zero Trust architecture to over 100,000 users across 120,000 devices in just five months. His efforts were pivotal in evolving Cisco's Secure Development Lifecycle and security governance models, thereby facilitating Cisco’s transition towards a more software and service-oriented business model.
Before joining Cisco, Brad was Adobe’s first Chief Security Officer and grew the security function from just a few employees to over 600 globally. Under his leadership, key accomplishments included building and operating the Adobe operational security stack to deliver security monitoring for millions of public cloud assets across a complex multi-cloud landscape and developing a Common Control Framework as the foundation for Adobe’s cloud transformation and global compliance strategy. In addition, his team was responsible for shipping sandbox protections for Acrobat and Flash Player to billions of end-users and driving adoption of the “patch Tuesday” release cadence for product security updates.
Early in Brad’s career, he co-founded the Software Security Group at Cigital and led the Application Security practice for AtStake. He was a pioneer in software security, helping code writers in commercial settings adopt a “built-in security” approach throughout the development process rather than treating security as an afterthought. Brad currently serves on the Sands Capital Ventures Industry Advisory Board and program committee for the RSA Executive Security Action Forum. He was formerly a Board Member of SAFEcode, a global nonprofit organization that brings together business leaders and technical experts to exchange insights and ideas on creating, improving, and promoting scalable and effective software security programs. Brad holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and Mathematics from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from George Washington University, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia University and London Business School.
